You need not stand if the hand is already with the dealer due to the soft 17. You may draw a third card if you feel your hand is still not best when compared with the dealers. However, you should not draw more cards to stand because it is not allowed.
Conserving your hand against the dealer bust is the best strategy because a dealer bust increases your chances of winning against the dealer by 99.9%. On the other hand, the dealer has similar opportunities to beat you when you stand against him due to the soft 17.
If you make your stand at a favorable time, for example when the deck is rich in low cards, you greatly increase your chances of beating the dealer.
